Saltwater Advantage
Did you know our on-site, heated pool is filled with salt water? Studies show that salt water is kinder and more therapeutic to exposed skin than regular pool water. Scuba New York students benefit from the buoyancy of the salt water. Bonus: It’s more like swimming in the ocean than a community pool.

Our certified instructors set our dive center apart. They love what they do, care about the quality of the program and give 110% to our students. On average, our instructors have 10 years teaching experience—more teaching years combined than any other dive shop in the region. Together our instructors have logged 6,409 dives. Scuba New York instructors renew their instructor certification annually, including CPR and First Aid. Our staff teaches a range of PADI scuba classes including Advanced, Rescue, Master, DiveMaster, Nitrox and Specialty courses.
Group or Private Scuba Instruction
No other dive center in the area offers the same level of flexibility and privacy. If a scheduled course doesn’t fit your busy life, let us know. We’re happy to customize your instruction needs to fit time restrictions and privacy concerns. You could be certified in as few as 3 days! Or, if you want to complete your Open Water Certification dives during an upcoming vacation, we can provide the required hours of theory and pool-time instruction before you leave.
Our experienced PADI dive instructors are available for private lessons at our pool or yours. We understand there are occasions and circumstances which require privacy. Our promise: We employ the upmost discretion in these cases.
PADI Five Star IDC Center
PADI, the world’s leading scuba diver training organization, has designated Scuba New York as a Five Star Instructor Development Center (IDC). Five Star Centers excel in providing a full range of top quality scuba certification programs, gear selection and opportunities. To qualify as a PADI Five Star Dive Center, a dive shop must meet elevated service and business standards.These dive shops also actively promote underwater environmental awareness and embrace the PADI System of diver education. Bonus: We’re a PADI Five Star IDC facility. We’ve met additional training requirements and offer PADI instructor-level training. A win-win for divers at all levels who train with us!

Scuba New York’s retail team is made up of experienced PADI certified divers and instructors who put your safety first.
