PADI Child and Teen Programs ages 8-14
These programs introduce children and teens to the fun of underwater activities such as scuba diving, skin diving and snorkeling. It’s a fantastic way to get the whole family involved in scuba diving! Contact Scuba New York to see which course best meets the goals for your child.
Bubblemakers ages 8+
During this session, our staff will help the kids gear up, teach them about the equipment and demonstrate the fun of diving and underwater breathing through activities all at the heated, salt water, Scuba New York pool.
Skin Divers ages 8+
Is your family getting ready for a tropical vacation? Let our dive experts teach you to use your snorkeling equipment before your toes touch the sandy shores of your tropical destination. Why waste valuable vacation time in class? Sign up for our PADI Skin Diver program. The heated pool at Scuba New York is perfect for first-time snorkelers and skin divers. Snorkeling is limited to exploring water from the surface. Skin divers make surface dives and interact more with creatures of the deep. Our instructors will help participants gear up and demonstrate how to use a mask, fins and snorkel, as well as teach some swimming and diving techniques through games and more. Need equipment? Visit our on-site dive shop where experienced PADI divers and dive instructors will fit you up.
Seal Team ages 8+
If your children are seeking adventure beyond typical pool party games, and show interest in pursuing the PADI Open Water Diver certification, then sign them up for the Seal Team program! Our staff will guide them through a two-part series of in-pool AquaMissions. The first part (AquaMissions 1-5) teaches the kids the basics of diving, concepts like buoyancy control, mask cleaning, regulator recovery and more. After the kids experience hands-on learning, they will complete an hour of exciting AquaMissions to reinforce the earlier learning.
Junior, Junior Advanced, Junior Master and Junior Rescue Diver Certifications ages 10-14
Scuba New York offers programs to continue the adventure and build their skills and knowledge base. Upon completion of these courses and certification, Juniors are still required to dive with a certified adult.
